The Saga of the Diaper Bag, Part 4
The Fourth Part
Today I tackled the embroidery. I fully expected it to take a few days because the dudes are going crazy with the rain, and flu season has started.
I had mentioned before that someone gave Nick an embroidery kit to pass along, and I was eager to try some of the stitches that I was learning. This panel gave me opportunities to try a whole bunch and I’m pleased with how it turned out.
The dudes were better than I thought they would be and I finished with enough time to get some other parts done as well. So I attached the top zipper to the reinforced bottom.
Then I lined up and sewed the side pockets, and sewed the front and top/sides/bottom together. It’s starting to look like a backpack, and I’m excited about it.
Finally I lined up and pinned the straps on (sorry for the picture, someone was climbing on my back). I’ll re-position them a few times to get it right, but that’s as far as I can go for now. I’m waiting on filament for the 3D printer so I can make some length adjustment pieces. In the meantime I’ll have to work on some other projects.
